Job Description

Description

Muir Wood Healthcare provides exceptional behavioral health services for adolescents ages 12-17

experiencing mental health and/or substance use disorders. The company specializes in high-touch,

personalized health care provided by psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, and substance use recovery

counselors who perform treatment across seventeen idyllic residential properties in California. Muir

Wood’s in-network status with key regional and national payers is highly differentiated and allows

Muir Wood access to a greater patient population. Despite the severe need for these services, Muir

Wood is one of only a few scaled providers in the country and is uniquely positioned to help alleviate

the behavioral health crisis facing adolescents and young adults in America.

In 2023, Muir Wood partnered with Avesi Partners, a healthcare-focused private equity firm that

prides itself on forming highly collaborative partnerships with management teams to drive superior

performance. Drawing upon its best-in-industry investment track record, Avesi has raised two

committed funds with collectively $2.2 billion since its launch in 2021, making it one of the fastest

growing healthcare PE firms. Since Avesi’s investment two years ago, Muir Wood has doubled its

patient capacity, expanded from northern California to the central and southern regions of the state,

opened its first intensive outpatient (IOP) client and significantly invested in management talent and

systems. Muir Wood plans to leverage this partnership to expand its core offering within not only California but also other states, while adding new services and extending its offering to the young adult population.
