**Entry-Level Substation Electrical Engineer**
**Job Summary**
POWER Engineers, a Member of WSP, is seeking an Entry-Level Substation Electrical Engineer to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our San Diego, California office. Employee will need to live within commutable distance of the office (this enables training and mentorship).
**Responsibilities**
The Entry-Level Substation Electrical Engineer will share responsibility with the rest of the department to produce a product consistent withour mission statement and culture. They are expected to support the department in achieving its goals of the department, maintain our high-quality standards, promote internal teamwork, and meet the needs of our clients.
+ Perform the detailed design of low to extra-high voltage substations including, but not limited to:
+ One-line diagrams
+ Schematics
+ Wiring diagrams
+ SCADA
+ Communications
+ Station physical layouts
+ Sections/Elevations
+ Cable and conduit plans and details
+ Ground grid design and details
+ Foundation plans and details
+ Structural plans and details
+ Control enclosure design and details
+ Lightning protection plans
+ Yard lighting plans
+ Bills of Materials
+ Site visits
+ Support QA/QC for deliverables to clients
+ Shall learn, understand, and adhere to client standards and processes while working individually or within a team to complete complex and technically challenging designs
+ Occasional travel
**Required Education/Experience**
+ BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, from an accredited university preferably with a power option
+ Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering to build on
+ Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel
+ Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship
**Desired Education/Experience**
+ 3+ months of relevant electrical engineering work experience; could be on an internship or co-op basis
+ Minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA)
+ Knowledge of electrical utility substations and familiarity with substation design
+ Engineer In Training certificate (EIT) or passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam

Base Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.
